Jeremiah Workman
Workman, a native of Ohio, is a seven-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. For his actions in Fallujah on December 23, 2004, he was nominated by his chain of command for the Medal of Honor and was subsequently awarded the Navy Cross. He is now on duty at the Pentagon in the office of the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps.
His story has been the subject of feature articles in the Washington Post, USA Today, Christian Science Monitor, and on national television. He is a member of Vets for Freedom and recently was a featured speaker on that organization’s National Heroes Tour.
He is at work on a memoir focusing on his struggle with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Shadow of the Sword: A Marine’s Journey of War, Heroism and Redemption, written with John Bruning, Ballantine/Presidio (September 2009).
