George Friedman is founder and chairman of Geopolitical Futures (www.geopoliticalfutures.com), a publication dedicated to explaining and predicting the course of the international system. Previously Friedman was chairman of the global intelligence company, Stratfor, which he founded in 1996.
Friedman is the New York Times bestselling author of Flashpoints: The Emerging Crisis in Europe (Doubleday 2015), The Next Decade (2011), The Next 100 Years: A Forecast for the 21st Century (2009), and America’s Secret War. All of his books have been widely translated and published around the world.
Friedman frequently appears on TV and radio and has been featured in Time, Wall Street Journal, New York Times Magazine, The New York Review of Books, and other publications. In 1994, he founded and was director of the Center for Geopolitical Studies at Louisiana State University. He holds a Ph.D. in government from Cornell University.
